Salaam my dearly beloved Afghans!

First of all I would like to convey my warmest regards to all you true daughters and sons of Afghanistan for keeping its light of glory lit. It is your dedication and love for Afghanistan that will shape the future for our children and their children. Setting examples through education and knowledge is the greatest contribution any one person can make to ones country and fellow countrymen and women.

Second I find such use of the internet to be more positive and more cohesive than the previous forums for the Afghans. I truely believe that our love and care for each other will shine through such cultural mediums.

OH, HOW I LOVE AFGHANS AND AFGHANISTAN!!!!!!!!!!!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND MORE POWER TO YOU ALL!

E. Aman

"If the elderly are worried about the youth, the youth have an equal right to be worried about their elderly"

Salaam Dr Roashan with all due respect. I read your article about the youth or should I say Afghan Youth in america and i strongly believe in the above Statement taken from your atricle. If parents don't care enough to Educate their children, their Tourch cariers in the future than obveiously the kids do not care at all. I have been fortunate to posses a real love for Afghan culture and have tried very hard to undrestand the Historical and foundations of our cultural beliefs and Practices.

Most Afghans in the United States lack this drive to learn about the Afghan culture, they are pre occupied with the American culure of SEX DRUGS ROCK N ROLL.

its hard to believe But thats where our youths have headed towards. I would like to thank you very much for adressing this issue.

Mizgon Jan

You are absolutly correct. Verbal abuse is a major cause of the collapse of self esteem. Specially amongst Afghans. I have noticed Non Afghan Kids have made crude comments about Afghans and their culture, but instead of defending their culture, Afghans tend to laugh with them and too much of this will cause a breakdown of self esteem and change of identity. As far as Afghans mocking Afghans, there is no room for that in the US. We Afghans need to stick together.

A drop of water is nothing but a weak substance that will evaporate in seconds, but try to stop a FLOOD. We Afghans need to join hands and become one force.

"Watandaarhaay-i Azeez",

I was so absorbed looking through the poetry, photography, and artwork in this issue of your magazine that two hours have passed and I have forgotton where or how on the Web I saw your URL. You simply made me homesick, in fact more homesick than I already was. But, who is complaining! Being homesick for Afghanistan is a pain that I don't want to live without.

I wish you success. Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,
Hafiz Baghban

Subject: neurologist story
It is nice that finally we have some kind of media in which we can share each other's achievements and aspirations. Indeed the story of the neurologist is inspiring, especially to those of us who are in college preparing to attend medical school. I suppose our aim should be to educate those of our community who do not yet have the motivation to be successful. This magazine seems to send the right messages.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

First of all let me thank every one who is involved for putting the great informative and eduacational issues of the Lemar-Aftaab on-line magazine. I think you folks are doing a wonderful job for keeping up the educational and cultural aspects of the Afghan`s modern history, whatever is left of it. I should say it with caution, regarding the enormous devastations, nonsense killings, and the disperse of the intellectual members of the Afghan society. I wish the Afghan youths utilize these great pages and focus on moral and educational values rather than getting into the chat room and fill up the screen with profane languages.

Thank you
Sincerely,
Alex

Your magazine is very interesting project because such activities allowed to preserve and even develop Afghan cultural heritage during hard war times. Besides this, it is unvaluable source for Afghanologists throughout the world especially giving in mind current unavailability of fieldwork in Afghanistan itself. So Lemar-Aftaab is a brilliant example of Afghan cultural and intellectual activities in exile.

Best regards and good wishes for your honourable initiative,

Yours sincerely,
Dr Vladimir Boyko

Hello, The article "Verbal Abuse" written by Mizgon Zahir was terrific! Verbal abuse is something that occurs very often and has a lot of impact on most people and their lives. This article might really help people understand that what they are doing is wrong. I especially liked it when she put it into steps as to why people act like this. I myself, had a hard time figuring out why people put others, especially of their own race down.
