"You"

You think that it is over.
You think that you are free.
You've cleansed your soul of all the evil,
Yet somehow you've forgotten me.

You think that you are reborn.
You think that the past is gone.
You say you've started a new life,
Yet your old one is far from gone.

You think that this change is good.
You think that it is for the best.
You've repented for your obvious sins,
Yet you give no mention of the rest.

You think that you are smart.
You think that you have succeeded.
You've gained the respect of others,
Yet you shall always remain defeated.

You see there is one thing you never learned.
Something you never thought to consider.
You mask your evil from the eyes of men,
Yet from the heavens there is no mask to hide under.
