"Art is adroitness-- it is a skill that I think everyone in their own distinctive way posses, in some form or another.
Art in some cases is functional. For example in older days and even today, it is used to distinguish between various people, cultures and regions.
For some individuals art has a purpose. Some artists express their views and thoughts on different issues through their artwork. For them art is a way of expression, and its purpose is to inform, influence, and or present an argument to its audience. While for others, art is just a form of leisure, which may not have a function or purpose at all.
I don't think my artwork is functional, nor does it have purpose. Due to the reminiscence of my childhood in Afghanistan, I like drawing the beautiful and courageous "Kuchie" women, -- whom I think should not be forgotten."
