KOROSH Saba has written a creative and wonderful Dari children's book titled Qarya-e Dynasor-ha (The Dinosaur's
Country) while only in the fifth grade. This collection of fables is illustrated by Khesrow Khaleq Penha and published by Barg-e
Saba Publications this past February.
The Dinosaur's Country is written with delightful detail. The stories paint a picture of the lives of different animals and their
relationships with their habitat, environment, friends and foes.
Each story has a pleasant turn into the friendship and decisions that the different characters make that leaves a distinct
impression on the reader. At the end of each story is a list of questions that encourages reader participation. This is a very clever
approach to involve readers in the story.
Korosh Saba, who resides in Canada, has always loved to write and read stories. While in exile in Peshawar with his
mother and younger brother, the author kept correspondence with his father in Canada by sending stories. Korosh had promised
his father that upon his arrival to Canada, he would publish his stories into a book. And The Dinosaurs' Country is the promised book.
Korosh Saba has a unique and creative imagination with an insight to story telling. He also has a firm grasp on the images he paints. Hopefully,
young Korosh will continue to publish more of his works.
The books is easy to read and is recommended for children ages 6-12. To obtain copies of The Dinosaur's Country, please
